Drought Advisors: Drought Plan Program Visits

Drought Advisors Project Manager travels around Colorado to visit Drought Plan Program participants.

Since early 2023, 38 farmers and ranchers from across Colorado have worked one-on-one with the Drought Advisors team to create unique drought plans for their operations. Now, they have completed their plans and are working to put those plans into action!

Throughout May and June, the Drought Advisors Project Manager, Tori Kauffman, has traveled across Colorado to visit these producers to both gain feedback on their experience in the program and to see how they’ve implemented their plans so far.

Stay tuned in the next couple of months for an update on what we learned from our participating producers!

Funded by a grant from the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), the Drought Plan Program is made possible by a partnership between individuals from CSU Extension, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, the USDA Climate Hub, the CSU Ag Water Quality Program several other entities.
