Eight $1,000 scholarships announced

DENVER—Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) is announcing the eight Colorado recipients who will receive RMFU post-secondary education scholarships for the 2003-04 academic year. The total value of the scholarships is $8,000. Two additional scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, have been awarded by Farmers Union Insurance agencies in Grand Junction, Colo. and Sterling, Colo.

“These recipients comprise a group of bright young leaders who are highly deserving,” said RMFU Education Director Amy Meyer. “I think we should expect great things from these young folks. RMFU is very proud to present them with these scholarships.”

Colorado recipients of the 2003-04 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each are:

From Ault, Janelle Wolf, daughter of Mike and Karen Wolf, receives the Joey Skurich Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by the Skurich family and $500 contributed by the RMFU Service Association.

From Crook, Miranda Fundus, daughter of Wayne and Luann Fundus, is awarded the Perry & Donna Jackson Farmers Union Scholarship, funded by the Farmers Union Service Association.

From Eckley, Jessica Brophy, daughter of Marty Brophy, receives the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union Scholarship.

From Grand Junction, Natalie Puckett, daughter of John and Kristine Puckett, receives the Dale Smith Memorial Scholarship funded by the Farmers Union Service Association.

From Holyoke, James Lenz, son of George and Becky Lenz, receives the Farmers Union Service Association Scholarship.

From Holyoke, Adam Millage, son of Steven and Jan Millage, is awarded the James G. Patton Memorial Scholarship.

From Longmont, Justin Hergenreder, son of Jerry and Tricia Hergenreder, is awarded the James G. Patton Memorial Scholarship.

From McClave, Lange White Heckman, son of Burt and Laura White Heckman, is awarded the Farmers Union Service Association Scholarship.

From Peetz, Blaire Schumacher, daughter of Phillip and LuAnne Schumacher, is awarded the Hazel Hemphill Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by Morgan County Farmers Union and $500 contributed by the RMFU Service Association.

From Peetz, David Vallier, son of Don and Diane Vallier, receives the Maurice Parker Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed Morgan County Farmers Union and $500 contributed by the RMFU Service Association.
