LCFA Volksmarch: Open to all!

The Larimer County Farmers Alliance is pleased to announce a Volksmarch fundraiser October 25th. We’re funding scholarships to students from farming families, many of which are underrepresented at RMFU camps and at college. A volksmarch is a noncompetitive 5K or 10K walk, usually traipsing through farmland, and traditionally ends with beer, brats, and a polka brass band.

This will be a first for Ft. Collins, and will include stops at Belafonte Farm and Well Fed Farmsteads, where patrons will learn a bit about regenerative agriculture practiced at these small farms.

The walk will commence from Stodgy Brewery, any time from 9-noon, and folks are encouraged to stay for music and refreshments after returning, about 4 miles round trip. The $25 ticket includes a token for a free beverage, and a homemade participation medallion. We’ll have a table to educate folks about RMFU, and our local chapter, the Larimer County Farmers Alliance. So dust off your lederhosen or dirndl and bring a friend or two to this fun fall event!
