RMFU announces 2002 scholarship recipients

DENVER—Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) has announced the winners of its 2002 post-secondary education scholarships. The total value of the scholarships is $8,000. Two more scholarships, totaling $2,000, have been awarded by Farmers Union Insurance agencies in Grand Junction and Sterling.

“These recipients comprise a group of bright young leaders who are highly deserving,” said RMFU president John Stencel. “We are proud to award these scholarships to help the recipients fund their college educations. We wish them all the very best!”

Recipients of the 2002 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each are:

From Cheyenne, Wyo., Lisa Nelson, daughter of Jeff and Kim Nelson, is awarded the Farmers Union Service Association Scholarship.

From Ft. Morgan, Colo., Ryan Clifford, son of Don and Susan Clifford, receives the Hazel Hemphill Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by Morgan County Farmers Union and $500 contributed by the Farmers Union Service Association.

From Idalia, Colo., Tatton Soehner, son of Gary and Cindy Soehner, receives the Farmers Union Service Association Scholarship.

From Peetz, Colo., Darrick Fehringer, son of Randy and Marijayne Fehringer, is awarded the James G. Patton Memorial Scholarship.

From Peetz, Colo., Jaclyn Schumacher, daughter of Lyle and Karen Schumacher, receives the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union Scholarship.

From Roggen, Colo., Kimberly Anne Klausner, daughter of Dan and Anita Klausner, receives the Joey Skurich Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by the Skurich family and $500 contributed by RMFU.

From Weldona, Colo., Susan Covelli, daughter of Bradly and Francine Covelli, receives the Maurice Parker Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by Morgan County Farmers Union and $500 contributed by the Farmers Union Service Association.

From Westminster, Colo., Nicole Russell, daughter of Don and Gail Russell, is awarded the Farmers Union Service Association Scholarship.

In addition to the RFMU-sponsored scholarships, two Farmers Union Insurance agencies in Colorado awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Recipients of these scholarships are:

From Grand Junction, Colo., Jessica Hildebrand, daughter of John and Syndee Hildebrand, is awarded the Dale H. Smith Scholarship, funded by the Grand Junction Farmers Union Insurance Agency and Farmers Union Service Association.

From Sterling, Colo., Kyle Beam, son of Richard and Jeanette Beam, is awarded the Perry Jackson Memorial Scholarship funded by the Farmers Union Service Association and Jackson Insurance Agency in Sterling.
