The RMFU Co-op Development Center was pleased to present a webinar and discussion in April focused on the concept and practices associated with Equitable Land Access. Various approaches to community land access were presented, including worker cooperative farms, commons, buy-protect-sell arrangements via land trusts, and land-back to tribal administrations.
Individual presentations profiled four Colorado projects: the Rio Grande Farm Park, Alamosa; Poudre Valley Community Farms, Laporte; recent and new projects of the Montezuma Land Conservancy, Cortez, including the formative work of the Southwest Equitable Land Access Collaborative (SELA); and an emerging long-term land access program of the Old Fort at Hesperus, part of Fort Lewis College, Durango.
