Denver, September 18, 2007 — Rocky Mountain Farmers Union members in Washington, D.C., this week to meet with federal legislators will also participate in the presentation of National Farmers Union “Golden Triangle” awards. Golden Triangle Awards honor legislative leadership on issues affecting family farmers and ranchers and communities of rural America.
Those receiving awards include Rep. John Salazar (D-Colo.) and Rep. Mark Udall (D-Colo.), as well as Senators Ken Salazar (D-Colo.), Michael Enzi (R-Wyo.) and the late Sen. Craig Thomas (R-Wyo.).
Reflecting on the honorees, RMFU President Kent Peppler said, “We appreciate the leadership of legislators from the Rockies. They have provided vital help on legislation affecting energy, food safety, country-of-origin labeling, and fair agricultural markets.”
