Senator Bennet Hosts Farm Bill Listening Session for the Eastern Plains

Senator Michael Bennet will host three days of Farm Bill listening sessions throughout Eastern Colorado with his agriculture policy staff from Washington, D.C. and Colorado regional staff members next week in Fort Morgan, Sterling, Wray, Burlington, Lamar, Springfield, La Junta, and Limon. Anyone with input on the Farm Bill process is welcome to attend, including local producers, community leaders, economic development leaders, and local institutions and businesses.

Colorado has a unique perspective on U.S. Department of Agriculture programs that are authorized in the Farm Bill, whether it’s conservation, commodities, disaster programs, rural development, forestry or nutrition. Bennet wants to make sure Colorado’s voice is part of the national discussion as Congress starts to set the stage for the new legislation. In 2017, Bennet organized two dozen staff-led Farm Bill Listening Sessions around the state. This year, Bennet kicked off his listening sessions with roundtables in Pueblo and Fort Collins in April and May. Information on the upcoming tour of the Eastern Plains can be found below.

Attendees should RSVP to james_thompson@bennet.senate.gov with the location where they would like to attend, their name, title and organization (if applicable), and contact information.
