Media Releases, Legislative News, Agricultural Updates
The temperatures are still high across our three states, but fall is rapidly approaching. Our policy committee recently met to start reviewing our policies, chapters are scheduling their county conventions, and the RMFU staff is already busy planning the 2024 Annual RMFU Convention.
As a grassroots organization, you shape our priorities and policies by sharing your voice. The policy committee met and started addressing the national and state policies, updating them to remove policies we accomplished and adding or clarifying policies that came up over the past year. After this long process, they will provide a redline policy book. I encourage you to read this policy book and look at the policies impacting you and our other members. Utilize this opportunity to shape RMFU and help guide our priorities over the next year.
Remember that the policies you bring forward, debate, and adopt will help our team advocate for you and all our members. Our government relations team uses our policies to advocate at the local, state, and federal levels. Take a look at the last couple of years: right to repair, rural mental health, competition and consolidation are all topics the members brought forward and fought for in front of policymakers, led by our Government Relations team. Policies debated and adopted during the Annual Convention are making a difference for producers and rural communities.
As a member, I urge you to bring policies that matter to you forward because it makes a difference.
To strengthen your voice, we first need to hear it. It is vital to our grassroots organization and for the good of our family farmers and ranchers that you attend your county convention, register as a delegate, and share your voice at the Annual Convention.
