Todd Hagenbuch – Candidate for District IV

Todd Hagenbuch has been an active Rocky Mountain Farmers Union member since he was elected the Secretary/Treasurer of the Northwest Colorado chapter in 2002. Shortly after taking that role, he was asked to participate in the first class of the reconstituted Fellows Program. He believed so much in the Farmers Union mission that he decided to run for Vice President of RMFU in 2004, a role he had until he had to quit in 2009 when he was hired by US Senator Michael Bennet to be the Northwest Colorado Regional Representative for the senator.

In addition to previously serving on the RMFU board, Todd has been to many Colorado legislative drive-ins, been to Washington, DC for legislative fly-ins, has served on the by-laws committee, the credentials committee, and the policy committee, and served on the NFU policy committee for three years, including two years as its chairman. He has received the RMFU Fellows Leadership in Excellence award, and he and his family were recently recognized as the RMFU Farm Family of the Year.

Todd and his wife Sarah have two children, Trevor and Amelia, who attend Soroco High School in Oak Creek, where they are both active in 4-H, FFA, and regularly attend RMFU Camp. Trevor not only attends camp, but recently worked as a counselor for Jr. Camp, a role he enjoyed very much. They live in Phippsburg where they are active in the community and help manage what remains of his family’s ranch located between Steamboat Springs and Oak Creek. Todd is currently the CSU Extension County Director and Agriculture Agent for Routt County.
