DENVER—Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) is announcing one Wyoming and eight Colorado recipients who will receive RMFU post-secondary education scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year. The total value of the scholarships is $8,500. Two additional scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, have been awarded by Farmers Union Insurance agencies in Grand Junction, Colo. and Sterling, Colo.
“These recipients comprise a group of bright young leaders who are highly deserving,” said RMFU Education Director Cree Bradley. “We should expect great things from these students. RMFU is very proud to present them with these scholarships.”
Colorado recipients of the 2005-06 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each are:
From Peetz, Jessica Schumacher, daughter of Gary and Kristy Schumacher, receives the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) Scholarship, funded by RMFU.
From Sterling, Daniel Schell, son of Don and Kris Schell, receives the Farmers Union Service Association (FUSA) Scholarship, funded by FUSA.
From Eckley, Michael Brophy, son of Marty Brophy, receives the James G. Patton Memorial Scholarship, funded by RMFU.
From Westminster, Jeffrey Carter, son of Dave and Sue Carter, receives the James G. Patton Memorial Scholarship, funded by RMFU.
From Sterling, Jami Knaub, daughter of Judy Knaub-Garrison, receives the Perry & Donna Jackson Farmers Union Scholarship, endowed by the Perry and Donna Jackson Family and the Farmers Union Insurance Agency in Sterling.
From Weldona, Jillian Deganhart, daughter of Tom and Donna Deganhart, receives the Hazel Hemphill Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by Morgan County Farmers Union and $500 contributed by RMFU.
From Limon, Morgan Parker, son of Kipp and Paula Parker, receives the Maurice Parker Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by Morgan County Farmers Union and $500 contributed by RMFU.
From New Raymer, Venessa Farnik, daughter of Steve and Lanette Farnik, receives the Joey Skurich Memorial Scholarship, with $500 endowed by the Skurich Family and $500 contributed by RMFU.
From Grand Junction, Robert Crawley, son of Robert and Susan Crawley, receives the Dale H. Smith Memorial Scholarship, endowed by the Dale H. Smith Family and the Farmers Union Insurance Agency in Grand Junction.
The Colorado recipient of the 2005-06 scholarship in the amount of $500 is:
From Boulder, Antonia Elliott, daughter of David and Teresa Elliott, receives the Edna Buchanan Memorial Scholarship, funded by RMFU.
The Wyoming recipient of the 2005-06 scholarship in the amount of $1000 is:
From Pine Bluffs, Laura Nelson, daughter of Jeff and Kim Nelson, receives the Farmers Union Service Association (FUSA) Scholarship, funded by FUSA.
