RMFU Supports Xochitl Torres Small as NM Deputy Secretary of Agriculture

Xochitl Torres Small of New Mexico has been appointed to serve as the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Rocky Mountain Farmers Union endorsed the nomination of Torres Small for this influential position within USDA. “With Congress facing a variety of key tasks, including a new Food and Farm Bill, we know Torres Small will make effective use of her experiences supporting our communities while working at Rural Development and in her time as a Member of Congress representing New Mexico. This action means priorities for farmers and ranchers in Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming will be supported at the highest levels of the Department,” says RMFU President Chad Franke.
